Duane A. Rahn, 76, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 2:15 a.m., Friday, May 11, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 East Northline Road, Tuscola, IL, with Pastor Jason Braaten officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2012 at the church. Burial will be in the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL is handling the arrangements.

Duane was born on August 20, 1935 in Roach Dale, IN, the son of Alfred and Elsie Christine Gericke Rahn. He married Mary Joan Rideout on October 30, 1956 in Tuscola, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include his sons: Michael D. Rahn and special friend: Karen of Effingham, IL, Fred Rahn and wife: Vicki of Neoga, IL, Daniel Rahn and wife: Marilyn of Williamsville, MO, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, brothers: Lowell Rahn of Baton Rouge, LA and Alan Rahn of Metropolis, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Janice Phillips, daughter-in-law: Joann Rahn, 2 sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law.

Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Duane was a retired truck driver and farmer. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder and was a member of the Men's Club. He received a 2 million mile safe driving award from Yellow Freight. He enjoyed collecting iron toys and old clocks. He was very fond of his grandchildren.
