Duane Troy "Bub" Quick, 66, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 6:50 p.m., Monday, December 29, 2014 at Mason Point, Sullivan, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Lake Fork United Church of Christ, rural Atwood, IL with Rev. Harold Harmison officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Burial with military graveside rites accorded will be in the Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood, IL.

Duane was born on July 16, 1948 in Tuscola, IL, the son of Maurice R. and Nora M. Houston Quick.

Survivors include his sisters: Janet Hughes of Tuscola, Marlene (Frank) Zyskowski of Tuscola and Karen (David) Miller of Arthur, nieces and nephews: Jessica (Tim) Ray of Tuscola, Emily (Cory) Kauffman of Arthur, Betsy (Corey) Dowd of Pawnee, Kayleigh (William) Rahn of Tuscola, and Tyler Zyskowski of Tuscola, great-niece: Lyla Ray and great-nephew: Austin Kauffman

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Duane graduated from Atwood-Hammond High School in 1966. He then graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with bachelor's degree in Agriculture in 1970. Duane served in the US Army during the Vietnam War in Germany. He farmed in the Atwood area for many years. He was a former DeKalb Seed salesman. Duane was a member of the Lake Fork United Church of Christ and the NRA.
