Dorthea Alta Abbott, 90, of Sullivan, died at 4:30 PM Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2016 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Rev. Ron Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Dorthea was born October 23, 1925 in Moultrie County, the daughter of Earl and Stella Welch Dixon. She married Glenn Abbott in Robinson in 1980; he preceded her in death in 2008.
She is survived by her son, Fred Bennett of Decatur; 2 daughters, LaVonn (Robert) Rogers of Fisher; Debra Humphreys of Chickasha, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers.
Memorials are suggested to donor's choice.
