Dorothy Frances (Oye) Waters, 90, of Arthur, passed away at 12:50 PM Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Arthur Home.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Arthur United Methodist Church, 128 E. Illinois Street, with Rev. Leroy Allison officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service from 9:00-11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dorothy was born May 7, 1922 in Arthur, the daughter of Hans and Lena Reeh Oye. She married Herbert Waters on October 18, 1941. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2001.

Survivors include one son, Larry Waters and his wife Eileen of Mahomet; grandson, Hans Waters of Mahomet; granddaughter, Heidi Greenspan and husband Dave of Duluth, Georgia; great-granddaughter, Alena Waters; and great-grandson, Dante Waters both of Mahomet; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Danny; her parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked at Progress Industries in Arthur for many years. She was a 64-year member of the Arthur American Legion Auxiliary; the Mattoon Moose Club; and the Arthur United Methodist Church.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the Arthur United Methodist Church.
