Dorothy Romine, 88, of rural Tuscola, IL, passed away at 7:39 a.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Patty Johansen and Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL.

Mrs. Romine was born on October 9, 1921 in Douglas County, IL,
the daughter of George A. and Edna Wehrli Frantz. She married Robert E. "Bob" Romine on February 12, 1950 at the Cartwright United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2009.

Survivors include her children: Sarah Cannon and husband: Curt of Camargo, IL, Ward Romine and wife: Pam of Bement, IL, Craig Romine and wife: Beth of Tuscola, IL, and Kathy St Ledger and husband: Don of Albion, IL, 9 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Granddaughters, Brother: Rev. Don Frantz of Shelbyville, KY, Sister: Joan Garner of Crossville, IL

She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter: Emily Romine and a brother: John Frantz

Mrs. Romine graduated from the Burnham School of Nursing in Champaign, IL. Dorothy retired from Jarman Memorial Hospital, Tuscola, IL, where she worked as a registered nurse. She was a very active member of the Cartwright United Methodist Church prior to the church closing, where she was the church pianist, VBS director and Sunday School Teacher.
She is a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church. Dorothy's family and church were very important to her. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching.
