Dorothy Ethel Beifus, 93, of Arcola, died at 8:24 PM Saturday, June 8, 2013 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
Private family services will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola.
Dorothy was born June 2, 1920 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the daughter of Walter and Josephine Cort McDuff. She married George C. Beifus in Hillside, New Jersey, on Sept. 11, 1938; he preceded her in death on October 6, 2007.
Survivors include her son, George (Lillian) Beifus of Port St. Lucie, Florida; 3 daughters, Dorothy Bussiculo of Stone Creek, New York; Marie (Ronald) Eskesen of Port St. Lucie, Florida; Patricia (John) Verducci of Arcola; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren.
She retired from Bristol Myers in New Jersey and she and George moved to Arcola in 1990. She loved working in the garden, crocheting, and having all her grandchildren around her.
