Dorothy May Adams, 84, of Mattoon, died at 7:52 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at Willow Breeze Hospice Facility, Mattoon.

She was born July 20, 1941 in Filson the daughter of Raymond and Irene Janes Vandeveer.

Survivors include 2 sons, Daniel Adams of Mattoon; Billy Adams of Missouri;2 grandchildren, Ryan and Madilyn Adams; 3 sisters, Joyce (Jim) Finn of Arcola; Martha Carwile and Cheryl Mills of Tuscola; 3 brothers, George (Ursula) Vandeveer of San Antonio, Texas; John (Melba) Vandeveer of Kempner, Texas; and Tom Vandeveer of Bella Vista, Arkansas.

Services are planned for a later date.
