Doris Marie Sims, 91, of Tuscola, IL, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Tuscola Health Care Center.

Funeral and Eastern Star Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Jason Rennert officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.

Mrs. Sims was born November 8, 1922 in Tuscola, IL to Oscar Herbert and Ethel Cook Lamb. She married Millard "Jerry" Sims, Jr. on May 19, 1971. Jerry died in 2006.

She was preceded in death by her son: James W. Waugh, brother: James W. Lamb, step-daughter: Dawn Sims Dallas, and foster sister: Lois Nancy McCollum DeMotte.

Survivors include her son: Ronald (Nola) Waugh of Tuscola, step-children: Ann Cromwell and Greg (Rosemary) Sims; grandchildren: Kim (Richard) Cash of Mattoon, Shanna (Rowdy) Shaw of Magalia, CA, Killy Waugh of Tuscola, J.J. Matthews of Champaign, Julie (Glen) Dunn of Effingham and Ryan Waugh of Beecher City; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Doris worked as an LPN at Carle Clinic for 20 years before retiring in 1988. She traveled extensively in the US, Canada and Europe. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary and the ABC Auxiliary. Doris was a member of the Tuscola First Christian Church.
