Donald E. Ochs, 87, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 8:40 AM, Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen Street, Tuscola, IL, with Father Barry Harmon as celebrant. No Visitation will be held. Private Family Burial Services with military graveside rites will be held at the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL. The Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Ochs was born on February 26, 1921 in Douglas County, IL, the son of Paul Joseph and Mary Madeleine Litzelman Ochs. He married Jane L. Reinhart on December 30, 1941 in Mattoon, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include: 2 Sons: Daniel E. Ochs and wife: Janice and Stanley N. Ochs and fiance: Deidra Gibson both of Oakland, IL, 2 Daughters: Janet L. Plaszczynski and husband: Leo of Tuscola, IL, Joyce Ann Runyan and husband: Ron of Highland, IN, 9 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Brother: Florent Ochs of Tuscola, IL, 1 Sister: Rebecca Bleichner of Tolono, IL

He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Brother and 3 Sisters

Mr. Ochs was a retired construction worker. He served as the Building Inspector for the City of Tuscola for several years. He was a member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, Tuscola IL. Don was a World War II US Navy Veteran, having served as a carpenter's mate in the Philippines and England. He was a member of the T.K. Martin Memorial Post VFW Post #10009 and the Knights of Columbus #3059
