Donald "Donnie" D. McMillan, 62, of Humboldt, died at 8:29 AM Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at his residence in Humboldt.

Private Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Humboldt Cemetery, rural Humboldt, with Rev. Stephanie Johanpeter officiating. Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donnie was born August 23, 1947 in Mattoon, the son of Donald Everett and Ellen Chaplin McMillan. He married Billi Dawson in Charleston on April 3, 1969.

Surviving are his wife, Billi McMillan of Humboldt; 2 sons, John and wife Cassie of Humboldt, Doug and wife Stacey of Wapella; 2 grandsons, Caleb of Wapella, Dawson of Humboldt; brother, Michael McMillan and wife Teresa of Taylorville; and sister, Sharon Gass of Mattoon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Donnie graduated from Mattoon High School. He was retired from Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company as a cable splicer after 36 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mattoon.

Donnie served his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Donnie enjoyed working on classic cars and loved attending car shows with his sons and grandsons.
