Donald E. Eckles, 80, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 5:10 a.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the Palm Terrace Nursing Home, Mattoon, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Duane Piercy officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Headyville Cemetery, rural Jasper County, IL

Don was born on March 22, 1934 in the Bowling Green, KY area, the son of Dewey and Lena Ford Eckles. He married Ruby Alice Thompson on July 18, 1959 in Arcola, IL. They were united in marriage for 55 years.

Surviving is his wife: Ruby Alice Eckles of Effingham, IL, step-daughter: Ruby Elizabeth (David) Lewis of Louisville, IL, two grandchildren: Chris (Ashley) Rush and Amber Rush both of Louisville, IL, three great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren, three brothers: Jerry and Ray Eckles both of Kentucky, Dean Eckles of Illinois, 16 nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
