Donald R. Chappell, 57, of rural Tuscola, IL, died at 2:50 A.M., Monday, October 2, 2006 at his residence.

Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Bruce Baumberger officiating. Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to: Douglas County Chapter of NWTF or Camargo Fire Department

Mr. Chappell was born on March 14, 1949 in Decatur, IL, the son of Thomas and Florence McLaughlin Chappell. He married Janet S. Armstrong on June 6, 1970 in Decatur, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include: His Mother: Florence Chappell of Decatur, IL, 2 Sons: Matthew Chappell and wife: Diana of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Chappell and wife: Staci of Hammond, IL, 1 Daughter: Michele Tewksbury and husband: Shawn of Milford, NH, 2 Brothers: Thomas Chappell and Dean Chappell both of Decatur, IL, 1 Sister: Diana Bafford of Hamilton, IL, 3 Grandchildren: Jacob Tewksbury, Zachary Tewksbury and Colton Tewksbury

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Chappell was a retired shift supervisor for Equistar Chemical Company, Tuscola, IL. He was a contractor. He was a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church, Tuscola Ambucs and the Tuscola Moose Lodge. He was the treasurer of the NWTF and he was a member of the Camargo Fire Department.
He enjoyed building, hunting and fishing.
