DJ Hart, 36, of Atwood, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 in rural Sadorus Township, Sadorus, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Atwood, with Dr. Lanny Faulkner officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the church. Burial will be in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood, IL is entrusted with the arrangements.

DJ was born on March 21, 1979 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Donald E. and Sharon Taylor Hart, Sr. He married Katy Slade on November 3, 2001 in Atwood, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Jacob and Lillian Hart both at home, parents of Tuscola, brother: Travis (Mary) Skinner of Fernandina, FL, sisters: LaDonna (Geoff) Saul of Cloverdale, IN and Krista (Albert) Brown of Tuscola, mother-in-law: Dawna Ulbricht, father-in-law: Donald Slade, 2 sister-in-laws: Vernita Spry and Sara Foster-Combs and their families, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: James "Jay" and Margie Taylor, paternal grandparents: Earl Hart and Betty Stro.
DJ was an apprentice lineman for IBEW Local #51. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atwood. He liked to hunt, fish and do anything extreme outdoors. He didn't know a stranger and was always the first to help someone in need. He coached Atwood Little League for many years and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. DJ loved his family.
