Deanna Rea (Cousins) Henningsen, aged 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, November 9, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held to honor her life at 10 a.m on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Christian Family Fellowship (The Henningsen Building), located at 18 County Road 500 East, Sadorus, IL.  She will be laid to rest at the Lewis Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood IL.

Deanna was born July 24, 1939 in Oklahoma City, OK to Melvin and Flossie (Armstrong) Cousins.  They eventually moved to Tuscola, IL where she met Robert "Bob" Henningsen.  They married in October of 1956 and settled on their farm where they raised their 4 children, crops, cattle and Quarter horses. Deanna and Bob believed in Jesus and devoted their lives to following him; teaching their children and grandchildren the same.

Their 4 children, Cristal (Brian) Lowry, Brian (Debby Pflum) Henningsen, Karin (Gaylin) Binion, and Katrina (Paul) Messmore, were at her side, caring for her til her passing, just as she had cared for her husband for 14 years after he became disabled.

Deanna was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Carolyn, brothers Mickey and Robert Cousins and granddaughter, Sophie Binion. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Menefee, sister in-law, Joyce (Jerry) Alexander, her 4 children, 34 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren. several soon to be born, 13 nephews and nieces and many great nieces and nephews; and her faithful Dachshund, Greta.
