David J. Willoughby, 67, of Tuscola, IL, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at his residence.

Services celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola, IL with military rites accorded.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

David was born on November 1, 1950 in Short Creek, KY, the son of James B. and Margaret A. Milam Willoughby. When he was 6 months old he and his family moved to Illinois.

He leaves to mourn his mother: Margaret Willoughby Williams Campbell of Tuscola, brothers: Richard (Rita) Willoughby and Dennis Willoughby both of Tuscola, Jon (Bonnadelle) Willoughby of Mattoon, many nieces, nephews and cousins in Kentucky and Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents: Eunice and Twain Milan, Sanders and Hattie Willoughby of the Short Creek, KY area.

David graduated from Tuscola Community High School in 1968, his class just celebrated their 50th class reunion. He enlisted in the United States Air Force following graduation. He served in the Air Force for 22 years, then worked as a civilian contractor at Hill Air Force Base near Salt Lake City, Utah for several years. He retired from there and decided to buy a house in Tuscola and move back "home", for which his family was grateful.
