David J. Mitsdarffer, 70, of Atwood, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with Dr. Lanny Faulkner officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL

David was born on July 23, 1946 in Tuscola, IL, the son of Joseph J. and Verda M. Taylor Mitsdarffer. He married Donna Marie Drake on March 19, 1965 in Urbana, IL. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2003.

Survivors include his son: David Keith Mitsdarffer of Atwood and daughter: Holly Marie Mitsdarffer of Lowell, IN, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, brother: John (Kathy) Mitsdarffer of Atwood and sister: Sandra K. (Kenny) Murray of Pesotum.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

David worked as a union bricklayer for Bricklayers Local #8, Belleville, IL.
