David G. Dean, 78, of Tuscola, IL, passed away on Saturday morning, June 3, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating. Burial will follow in the Tuscola Township Cemetery with military graveside rites accorded.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
Dave was born on March 12, 1939 in Port Huron, MI, the son of Lester and Ethelyn Decker Dean. He married Donna Beard Vukelich on July 31, 1982. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter: DeAnna (Bruce) Rogers of Charleston, sons: Arnold (Pam) Dean of Oakland and Brian (Keri) Dean of Tuscola, step-daughter: Laura (Derrick) Hahn of Trivoli and step-son: David (Jeanne Pettry) Vukelich of Tuscola, grandchildren: Zachary Rogers, Steven Rogers, Matthew Dean, Colin Slaughter, Karli Dean, Katie Dean, Samantha Martin, Danielle Hahn, Nicole Hahn and Henry Vukelich, great-grandchildren: Charlie Dean, Zoey Rogers and Ara Rogers, brothers: Bob (Faith) Dean of Rio, Bert (Connie) Dean and Dick (Kathy) Dean both of Kalkaska, MI and sister: Juanita (Earl) Coon of Kalkaska, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Jack and Merrit Dean and sister: Rosemary Burns.
Dave worked as a lineman for AmerenCIPS from 1964 until his retirement in 1997. He also worked as a tree trimmer for many years.
He was a US Army veteran. Dave was a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening and camping. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
