David Eugene Carwile, 67, of Arcola, died at 10:50 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at his residence.

Public Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Arcola Cemetery with Pastor Ron Stewart officiating. Friends may pay their respects anytime after 9:00 AM until noon on Friday at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola.

David was born January 14, 1944 in Tuscola, the son of George and Stella Chancellor Carwile. He was united in marriage to Martha Vandeveer in Arcola on Sept. 9, 1962.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 50 years, Martha Carwile, of Arcola; 3 daughters, (twins), Pamela Karnes and husband Billy of Tuscola; Patty Vincent and husband Mike of Camargo; Peggy Carwile of Arcola; 5 grandchildren, Matt Karnes of Tuscola; Chad Karnes and fiancee` Katie Norman of Hindsboro; Kali Shields of Arcola; Justin Michael Vincent and Jennifer Elizabeth Vincent of Camargo; and 1 sister, Barbara Schrock and husband Irvin of Champaign. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.

David started out as an independent trucker, owning and operating his own business. He then drove for Steve Shafer Trucking and for the last 17 years drove for Oye Trucking. He loved fishing, hunting, Chicago Cubs and Bears, Illini, Nascar Racing and gardening. He enjoyed feeding the birds and built bird houses. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Arcola.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
