Darrel W. Traxler, 90, of Arthur, died at 9:30 PM Monday, April 7, 2014 at Mason Point in Sullivan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Pastor Mitch Flesch officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Darrel was born April 6, 1924 in Hammond, the son of Ollie and Sylva Gentry Traxler. He married Wanda Silver in Decatur on August 30, 1947.

Survivors include his wife Wanda Traxler of Arthur; daughter, Deborah Bolt of Arthur; sons, Steven Traxler of Pasadena, Texas; Mark Traxler of Arthur; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Timothy Traxler, and 6 siblings.

Darrel had worked as a supervisor at U.S.I. Chemical Corp. in Tuscola for 33 years. He was an U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II.
