Darlene June Traxler, 88, of Arthur, died at 3:25 PM Friday, November 16, 2012, at Mason Point Nursing Facility, Sullivan, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, November 24, 2012, at the Shrader Funeral Home, 431 South Vine Street, Arthur, with Rev. John Maples officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

June was born June 10, 1924, in Marshall County, Iowa, the daughter of George and Hilka Niederhauser Agge. June was united in marriage to Darren L. "Deke" Traxler in Bowling Green, Missouri, on November 13, 1942. Deke preceded his wife in death on July 19, 1998.

Mrs. Traxler is survived by two sons, Allan Lynn Traxler and his wife Linda of Effingham; Terry N. Traxler of Mattoon; her daughter, Mary Ellen Traxler of Arthur; sister, Ruth Herz and husband Glenn of Portland, Oregon. There are six grandchildren: Andy Traxler and his wife Rachelle of Columbus, WI; Christine Yaden of Kannapolis, NC; Callie Traxler of Shelbyville; Nick Traxler and wife Kelli of Chesterfield, MO; James Traxler of Effingham and Jason Traxler and wife Blaine of Effingham. There are seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Ann, and brother, Bill Agge.

Mrs. Traxler was a cook at the Dutch Kitchen in Arcola. She also had welded at Progress Industries during World War II. June loved NASCAR.
Her favorite driver being Jeff Gordon. She enjoyed her grandchildren and had a special place in her heart for her dog Minnie and cat Toby. Mrs. Traxler was a member of the Arthur Southern Baptist Church.
