Darlene Pieper, 87, of Hammond, IL, passed away at 7:45 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL with Rev. Mike Drake officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery, Strasburg, Illinois.
Darlene was born on March 10, 1929 in Strasburg, IL, the daughter of Lester and Elma Beals Weber. She married Carl W. Pieper on June 8, 1947 in Strasburg, IL. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2015.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Wierman and husband Dan of Atwood and Janice Daily and husband Brian of Arthur, 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 step-grandson and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
Darlene was a homemaker. She graduated from Strasburg High School and she was a former Hammond 4-H leader. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, camping and being with her grand babies.
Memorials are suggested to the United Church of Atwood Christian Education Fund.
