Dale M. Reeder

Dale M. Reeder, 68, of Tuscola, passed away at 7:05 a.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Celebration of Life Services will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2026 at the Tuscola First Christian Church, 100 East Church Street, Tuscola, IL. 

Dale was born on November 18, 1957 in Paxton, the son of James C. and Rosemary Crum Reeder. He married Sheryl L. McCarty on June 29, 2000 in Urbana.

Surviving is his wife: Sheryl L. Reeder and their children: Robert (Bethany) Downs of Bloomington, Kimberly (Justin) Cary of Paris and Brian (Princess) Downs of Champaign, grandchildren: Owen and Elliott Downs, Kendall Cary, Zion, Kamiyah and Cailyn Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: James Reeder.

Dale was a US Army Veteran. He formerly worked as a storekeeper at the University of Illinois for 20 years, retiring in 2018. Dale was a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge, and he enjoyed drag racing and bowling.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Douglas County Animal Shelter.
