Cynthia Rose Demaree, 71, of Tolono, IL passed away peacefully at Arbor Rose in Tolono surrounded by her loving family at 4:15pm on Thursday June 5, 2025, following a battle with dementia.
Born on May 28, 1954, in Brazil, IN, Cindy was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Johnson. She grew up in Arthur, IL with her brother Jim and sister Sandy. She married Patrick Walsh of Bement, IL and had two children, Donna and Christopher. She married Bob Demaree on October 25, 1996.
She is survived by her husband Bob Demaree of Tolono, brother Jim Johnson of Benton, sister Sandy (Rob) Fustin of Arthur, as well as her children Donna (Matt) Dean of Tuscola, and Chris (Carrie) Walsh of Farmer City. Also surviving are Cindy's six grandchildren - Sydnie, Jonas, Tyson, Molly, Harry, and Charlie.
Cindy graduated from Arthur High School in 1972. After graduating high school, Cindy attended Lakeland Community College and earned an associate degree in accounting. Cindy spent her entire professional career working at Carle Clinic in Urbana, IL. She started working in the accounting department, then spent the remainder of her career as the Carle Credit Union manager. She treated co-workers like family, and she always greeted the customers with a smile.
Cindy enjoyed taking walks for pleasure and exercise. She had a great love for nature and enjoyed camping and gardening. She loved her dogs and was an avid reader, but her greatest love was for her children and grandchildren. She always spoiled her grandkids and made them feel loved. All of the grandchildren have many wonderful memories at Grandma and Bobby's house.
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her infant granddaughter Grace Walsh.
A celebration of Cindy's life will be held at 4:00 pm, Friday, July 11, 2025 at Worship in Word Ministry, 104 East Southline Rd. Suite B, Tuscola.
Cindy's beautiful smile and memorable laughter will be dearly missed, but her legacy of kindness will endure through the lives that she touched.
