Cynthia Ann Avery, 74, of Hammond, IL, passed away at 11:38 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with the Rev. Glenn Baker officiating. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, IL.
Cynthia was born on November 4, 1937 in Monticello, IL, the daughter of Marshall Lee and Thelma Angie Kestner Conour. She married Leonard Avery on November 7, 1953 in Hammond, IL. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2003.
Survivors include her daughters: Debra Edwards and husband: Richard W. of Decatur, IL and Robin Phelps of Arthur, IL, 4 grandchildren: Steve Yocum and wife: Amanda, Kelly Dailey and husband: David, Rena Vincent and fiancé: Jonathan Pate and Amanda Phelps and 2 great-grandchildren: Ian and Shelby, 3 brothers: Thomas Conour of Mattoon, IL, Ronald Conour of Decatur, IL, and Richard Conour of Atwood, IL, 3 sisters: Sue Moss of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Cheryl Chapman of Atwood, IL and Sharon Eckart of Hammond, IL
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Cynthia retired from Schrock Cabinets in Arthur, IL. She was a St. Louis Cardinal fan, NBA basketball fan and she really enjoyed playing BINGO. Cynthia loved spending time with her family and friends.
