Corene M. Hettinger, 96, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 6:00 pm, Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Country Health Nursing Home, Gifford, IL

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, February 9, 2011
at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen Street, Tuscola, IL, with Father Barry Harmon officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 with a 5 pm Vigil Service at Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.
Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL

Mrs. Hettinger was born on August 26, 1914 in Douglas County, IL, the daughter of Anthony and Margaret Reinhart Kleiss.
She married George J. Hettinger on August 10, 1936 in Tuscola, IL. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2003.

Survivors include 4 Sons: Richard Hettinger and wife: Sandra of Tolono, IL, Jerry Hettinger and wife: Becky of Sidell, IL, Thomas Hettinger and wife: Renee' of Tuscola, IL, Alan Hettinger and wife: Ellen of Tuscola, IL, 1 Daughter: Sara M. Brown and husband: Joseph of Rantoul, IL, 17 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Brothers: Floyd Kleiss and Paul Kleiss both of Tuscola, 2 Sisters: Irma Miller of Gainesville, TX and Agnes Cler of Villa Grove, IL

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Imogene Deedrich

Mrs. Hettinger was a homemaker. She was a member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She taught religious education for many years. She was an excellent seamstress and cook.
