Clyde Morris Logan, 84, of Arcola, died at 11:15 AM Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 11, 2009 at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, with Rev. Bruce Baker officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until time of funeral service on Friday. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery.
Clyde was born September 18, 1925 in Arthur, the son of Joseph Morris and Grace Roberts Logan. He married Helen May Duhamell in Arcola on August 8, 1967; she survives.
Survivors include his wife Helen of 42 years; children, Janis (Steve) Walk of Mattoon, Jim (Carol) Logan of Camargo, Jack (Linda) Logan of Arcola, Linda (Larry) Lytle of Taylorville, Dan (Suzanne) Duhamell of Nixa, Missouri, Chris (Randy) Waymack of Arcola; 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; brother, Charles Logan of Monticello; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen Wampler, Edith Bryant, Ethel Flood; brothers, Earl and Roy Logan; infant brothers and sisters.
Clyde graduated from Arthur High School and farmed for a number of years, including the time he worked at U.S.I. Chemical Corp. in Tuscola, retiring in February, 1989.
He enjoyed puzzles, Illini basketball, Cubs baseball, joke telling, woodworking, and vegetable gardening; but most of all, he loved being surrounded by his grandchildren and loving wife, Helen.
