Obituary

Cleo E. Nickell, 88, of Hammond, IL, passed away at 4:32 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with Rev. Glenn Baker officiating. Burial will follow at the Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, IL.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the PawPrint Ministries, 226 West Eldorado Street, Decatur, IL 62522 or Hammond Missionary Baptist Church, 511 South Don Ryan Street, Hammond, IL 61929.

Cleo was born on April 14, 1928 in Sullivan, IL, the daughter of John and Zora Watts Bandy. She married Glenn Nickell on February 23, 1946. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1991.

Cleo is survived by her daughter: Linda Davis and her husband Harold of Hammond, granddaughter: Patty (Mike) Webb, step-grandchildren: David (Tracy) Davis, Steve (Amy) Davis, Scott (Monica) Davis and Suzanne Davis (Wayne Heinzelmann) all of Hammond.

Cleo has 2 great-grandsons: Patrick and Andy Webb, 10 step-great-grandchildren: Melissa (Christian) Lowry, Elaine Davis, Rebecca Davis, Donna (Lester) Wang, Katie (David) Himmel, Ben (Tiffany) Davis, Nicholas Davis, Christopher Davis and Kimberly Davis, 3 step-great-great-grandchildren: Brantley Davis, Lilly Davis and Elam Lowry, sister: Pat (Richard) Fleming of Decatur, brother-in-law: Frank Nickell of Cape Girardeau, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Larry Nickell, step-great-granddaughter: Jenny Davis, 4 brothers: John, Homer, Roger and Lyle Bandy, 2 sisters: Dorothy Abel Shockley and Shirley Mahan.

Cleo loved working outdoors in her yard and working with her flowers. She also loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Her chocolate chip cookies and noodles were always the best.

Cleo was a hardworking farm wife, Mother, Grandmother and Granny.

She will be truly missed by all her family and friends.
