Clarence D. Davis, 78, of rural Lovington, IL, passed away at 8:45 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL with his family members by his side.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Burial will follow at the Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, IL with military graveside rites accorded for the US Army Veteran.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the funeral home.

Clarence was born on October 30, 1946 in Tuscola, the son of Ira H. and Mae Alma Marcum Davis. He married Linda L. Rigg on March 10, 1968 in rural Arthur, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Doug (Leslie) Davis of Arthur, Kevin (Tania) Davis of Searcy, AR, Tim (Amy) Davis of Hammond, Kristine Query and fiancée Jason Berg of Dalton City and Greg (Nikki) Davis of Essex, 19 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-grandchild, brothers: Harold (Linda) Davis of Hammond and Jeff (Ronda) Davis of Lovington, sisters: Betty (Edmund) Hogan of Arthur and Carolyn (Robert) Smith of Hammond and mother-in-law: Norma Rigg of Hammond.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law: Howard Rigg.

Clarence graduated from Tri-Valley High School in Downs, IL. He retired from Millikin University in Decatur where he worked as a mechanic for many years. He was a US Army veteran serving his country during the Vietnam War. Clarence enjoyed woodworking, tinkering and spending time with his family, especially his many grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Cancer Care Center of Decatur.
