It is with great sadness that the family and loved ones of Cynthia Jean "Cindy" Moore, 65, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Arcola, announce her sudden passing on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 1:00 a.m. EST at Baptist Medical Center Downtown, Jacksonville, Florida.

Cindy was born August 22, 1959 in Mattoon, the daughter of Robert and Myrna Layton Moore. She is survived by her son, Brad (Kristen) Kite of Dothan, Alabama; daughter, Ashley (Rob) Rumanek of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; grandchildren, Annie, Brayden, and Lilly Kite; Kate, Sam, Evan, Caroline, Livi, and Lakin Rumanek; mother, Myrna Moore of Arcola; brother, Bob Moore of Charleston; sisters, Jana (John) Nacke of Arcola; Connie Wood (Brian) of Van Wert, Ohio; Sally Moore of Mattoon; Sheri Rappe (Randy) of Mattoon; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cindy is preceded in death by her father, Robert (Bob) Moore.

Cindy leaves behind her significant other, Nancy Morris and their dog, Sophie and cat, Cooper, and Nancy's children Elaine Nowakowski (Roland Heintz) and their son Elliot of Jacksonville, Florida and Brian (Karen) Nowakowski and their daughter Coco of North Wales, Pennsylvania and Michael (Jen) Nowakowski and sons Reid and Graham of Baltimore, Maryland.

Cindy was a graduate of Arcola High School Class of 1977; and earned her B.S. Degree at Troy State University, Alabama in Education. She went on to enjoy teaching in the elementary grades with her fondest memories being at Englewood Elementary in Jacksonville, Florida where she taught for 18 years until retiring in May 2024.

Cindy loved all sports, having played basketball, volleyball and track in high school. She played college volleyball and loved coaching the sport. She also had a passion for travel with trips to Europe, cruising the Mediterranean and yearly Caribbean Island cruises with a group of friends brought her special joy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2025 at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, with Pastor Brent Budd officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Friday.  Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery.
