Charlotte Anne Welborn Hausmann Kleiss, 78, of Tuscola, IL, peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus Christ at 11:23 a.m., Thursday, April 4, 2019 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 8, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Atwood, 231 North Illinois, Atwood IL with Pastor Lanny Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm, Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Atwood.
Charlotte was born September 9, 1940, the daughter of James L. "Pete" and Ellouise Simmons Welborn. She married Frank Hausmann on March 28, 1959. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1991. She married William C. "Bill" Kleiss on April 24, 1993 in Atwood, IL.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, William C. Kleiss, son: Buck (Claudia) Hausmann and daughter: Shari (Bill) Fleming. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Tinita (Paul) Stam, Jessie Hausmann, Catie (Harry) Workman, David (Cara) Fleming, Mitchell (Lesley) Fleming, Jake Hausmann and Lauren Hausmann and 5 great-grandchildren: Carter, Cooper, Caroline, Avery and Emma Fleming, siblings: Jeryl (Jim) Ploeger, Mike (Cassie) Welborn and Sylvia (Mark) Mize.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Frank Hausmann, a brother: Rick Welborn and a sister: Kathy Montoya.
Charlotte spent her childhood growing up in Texas but graduated from Tuscola High School. She worked several years at the Hillard Agency, followed by some years at the Tuscola Water Company and then for the City of Tuscola. She spent her last years, before completely retiring, as Administrative Assistant in the office of the Atwood First Baptist Church.
Charlotte's greatest love was for her Lord and Savior. She spent over 20 years as Commander of the Awana Club ministry at FBC, teaching children the love of Jesus. She had a passion for children and hoped that every child knew they were loved. Her greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and all her family. She cherished every moment spent with family.
Memorials contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Atwood.
