Charles Duane Waite, 81, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 2:52 a.m., Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside rites accorded will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.
Charles was born on January 24, 1931 in Centerville, Kansas, the son of William M. and Elizabeth Stevenson Waite. He married Anna LaVerne Tevis on July 7, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include his children: Darrell Waite of Tuscola, Mary Beth (Dennis) Ochs of Tuscola, Karen Kilker of Forreston, IL, Kevin (Cindy) Waite of Cave Creek, AZ and Aaron Waite of Tuscola, sister: Jean JoEllen (Herb) Kreisel of Metropolis, IL, 7 grandchildren: Brett Ochs, Lauren Ochs, Kristen Ochs, Ian Waite, Eric Waite, Sean Kilker and Shannon Waite (Bill Zgura), great-grandson: Ethan Zgura, several dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: KEITH WAITE

CHARLES WORKED AS AN OPERATOR FOR TRUNKLINE GAS COMPANY IN DYERSBURG, TN AND TUSCOLA, IL FOR 32 ½ YEARS, RETIRING IN 1988. HE WAS A US NAVY VETERAN OF THE KOREAN WAR. HE ENJOYED CARPENTRY AND WOODWORKING. CHARLES WAS VERY DEVOTED TO HIS FAMILY.
