Charles F. Schwenke, Jr., 73, of Mattoon, formerly of Arthur, passed away at 9:46 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Odd Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon.

In accordance with his wishes, a private family service will be held.

Mr. Schwenke was born April 20, 1952 in Mattoon, the son of Charles F. and Ollie Alice Cordes Schwenke, Sr.

Chuck is survived by his sister: Tina (Phil) Sparks of Arthur, brother: Melvin (Susan) Schwenke of Charleston, niece: Tina Stone De Azanon and her husband Eliseo Azanon Stone of Urbana, nephew: Scott (Megan) Stone of Mattoon, great-nephew: Jay Stone Azanon and another great-niece and great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew: Stephen Charles Stone, great-nephew: Jeremiah Boyle and special friend: Mike Hemmett.

Chuck was a 1971 graduate of Mattoon High School.  He was a US Air Force veteran.  He enjoyed going to Texas Roadhouse and Los Gallos in Arthur.  He loved music and dancing shopping at thrift stores and attending drag shows.  He loved his dog "Bear".
