Charles Edward Patterson, 76, of Tuscola, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at his residence.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2026  the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL with Rev. Tony Crouch officiating.

A lifelong resident of Tuscola, Charlie was born on April 1, 1950, the son of Harold “Pat” and Maude Patterson. Survivors include his brother Howard (Cary) Patterson of Catonsville, MD; sisters Janelle (Joe) Reardon of Fairview Park, Ohio and Margaret (Pete) Loewenstein of Lake Monticello, VA; nieces and nephews: Shelley (Greg) Keith, Jeri Bragg, Debbie Banta, Steve (Sally) Fagan, Amy (Mitchell) Davee, Scott Patterson, Craig (Jennifer) Nein, Elizabeth (Edward) Wardak, Tim Reardon, Megan Reardon (Scott LePera), 11 great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Rosemary Grieshammer and Jo Ann Tyler.

Charlie graduated from Tuscola High School in 1968, served in the National Guard and was retired from Kraft Foods. In his earlier days he enjoyed flying and motorcycle riding and once rode his bike up Pikes Peak. He was a kind and caring person with a quick wit and amusingly dry sense of humor. He was loved by many and will be missed by those near to him.

Our family would like to thank the neighbors who looked out for Charlie with a special thank you to Paul Snow. We would also like to thank Lisa Edwards, Coroner, the Tuscola Police Department and Tim Hilligoss for their kindness and assistance.
