Charles Daniel "Dan" Embry, 75, of Paris, formerly of Arcola, died at 2:08 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Paris Community Hospital.

Dan was born November 7, 1943 in Muldraugh, Kentucky, the son of Charles and Margaret Holston Embry. He married Janet Gearlds on December 6, 1982.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Embry of Paris; daughter, Tina (Tim) Carter of Mentone, Indiana; brother, Leo (Candy) Embry of Chenoa; sister, Wanda Jackson of Kentucky; grandchildren, Josh Carter, and Beth (Cale) Thompson both of Mentone, Indiana; 2 great granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Anna Embry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Danny Joe Embry; and brother, Rick Embry.

Dan was a retired truck driver and a member of the American Legion Post of Marshall. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bears.

He served in the U.S. Marines.

There will be no services. Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.
