Charles L. Emberton , 81, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 9:14 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his residence.

Graveside Services with military rites accorded will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL with Dr. Lanny Faulkner officiating.

Charles was born on October 30, 1938 in Tompkinsville, KY, the son of Turner and Pauline Ford Emberton. He married Patricia L. Brooks on October 28, 1957 in Arcola, IL. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2011.

Survivors include his children and grandchildren: Jane (Bill) Cochran of Cape Coral, FL and their children: Dana, Rachel and Drew, Sherri (Mike) Hatton of Brocton, IL and her son: Charles, Lori Winkler of Cape Coral, FL and her daughter: Amanda, Greg Emberton of Tampa, FL and his children: Ashley, Turner and Tyler, granddaughter: Samantha, 9 great-grandchildren, sisters: Jessie Wildman and Tomi Cooke.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Gary Emberton, brothers: Bill Emberton and Timmy Greenwood and sister: Bessie Emberton

Charles and his wife both worked as janitors at the Atwood-Hammond High School for over 20 years.

He served his country as a member of the US Navy and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Atwood.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Atwood.
