Charles Jay Canull, 72, of Advance, MO, formerly of Mattoon, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Funeral Services will held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Chesterville Cemetery, Chesterville, IL.

Charles was born on April 14, 1940 at Mattoon, IL, the son of
Edward and Geneva Swinford Canull.

Charles had been a mechanic.

Survivors include six sons: Rod Canull of Tuscola, IL, Rocky Canull of Tuscola, IL, Riche Canull of Tuscola, IL, Carl Canull of Cape Girardeau, MO, Daniel Canull of Chaffee, MO and Chris Spencer of Cape Girardeau, Mo, two daughters: Tina Messmer of Advance, MO and Tabby Held of Fort Leonard Wood, MO, 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons; Rick Canull and Randy Canull.
