Carrie L. Dobson, 84, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 12:07 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Burial will follow in the Bement Cemetery, Bement, Illinois

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday at the funeral home.

Carrie was born on February 22, 1934 in Somerset, KY, the daughter of Leon and Leva Beshears Ard. She married David R. Dobson on November 2, 1952 in Bement, IL. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.  He survives.

Also surviving are 2 sons: Kim (Debbie) Dobson of Monticello and Brian (Lynn) Dobson of Lutz, FL, daughters: Jill Dobson of Champaign and Carla (David) Boyer of Rossville, IL, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brother: Harold Ard of Bement, half-brother: Jay Ard of Bement, sisters: Joan Trifilo of St. Pete Beach, FL and Sharon Dorsey of Waynesville, NC

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Lela Wildman.

Carrie worked as a retail clerk for many years at the Four Seasons Clothing Store and at the Tuscola outlet mall.
She was a member of the Tuscola First Christian Church. Carrie enjoyed walking on the beaches in Florida, going to garage sales and she was a Fighting Illini fan. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family members.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello, IL.
