Carol Evelyn (Warnes) Denton passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2012.

She was a legal secretary for more than 30 years, working in private firms in Marion and St. Charles, Ill. She finished her career working in the legal department at the City of Champaign for 11 years until she retired in 2010.

She touched the lives of so many people during her time on earth and will be missed by all who knew her.

An avid shopper and QVC aficianado, she loved finding the coolest gadgets and perfect gifts for those she loved.

She was a fighter til the end, determined to live her life independently.

Her last days were just as she wanted, in her own home, spending time and laughing with her friends, family and most importantly, her kids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Lloyde Warnes, formerly of Tuscola, Ill., and her son Jeff Dickson, formerly of Marion.

She is survived by her brother Max Warnes, of Tuscola; son Scott Dickson, of Gaylord, Mich; daughter Angela Dodge and son-in-law Chad Dodge, of Houston, Texas; nephews Steve and Phillip Warnes, of Tuscola; and seven grandchildren-Jeffrey Dickson, Melissa Richardson, Jeremy Haas, Taylor Rolson, and Brianna, Olivia and Emily Dodge.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at the Tuscola United Methodist Church, 901 North Prairie Street in Tuscola. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL is assisting the family.
