Carl E. Quinn, 76, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 9:50 am, Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center, Mattoon, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Tuscola First Christian Church, 100 East Church Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Scott Zorn officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Carl was born on November 21, 1934 in Mattoon, IL, the son of William H. "Pete" and Vivian Goodwin Quinn. He married Shirley J. McMorris on August 7, 1955 in Tuscola, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include his children: Karen (Ron) Hayford of Sullivan, Steve (Theresa) Quinn and Kevin (Susan) Quinn both of Tuscola, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother: Robert Quinn of Tuscola.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Patty Quinn and a grandson: Caleb Steven Quinn

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Tuscola First Christian Church, Tuscola Christmas Bureau or SAM's Food Pantry.

Carl started working at the Tuscola Post Office in 1955. He worked as a window clerk and then served as Postmaster from 1979 until his retirement in 1992. Carl was a member and former elder of the Tuscola First Christian Church. He was a charter member and past president of the Tuscola Kiwanis Club. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carl was a US Army veteran.
