Broc Stephen Winn, 26, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Tuscola, passed away on Wednesday (Oct. 8, 2014) in Nashville.
Broc was born on June 5, 1988 to his loving parents Brett and Kristin (Ray) Winn. He was a graduate of Tuscola High School Class of 2007. He attended the University of St. Francis where he played football.
He is survived by his parents and his younger brother Dane Winn. He also leaves Grandparents Brian and Juanita Brace, Great-grandmother Gerry Brace, Aunts and Uncles Kim (Ray) and Todd Kresin, Ben and Janelle Brace, Katie (Brace) and Mike Santilli, cousins Peyton and Cade Kresin, Jessica (Kresin) Miller, Bryleigh and Bentley Brace, Jackson and Emmery Santilli, Grandfather Dale Ray, Uncle Josh Addis (Dalton and Deacon), Aunt Alisha Addis (Jacob). Also surviving are Grandparents Roger and Karen Winn, Great-grandmother Margaret Winn, Uncle Scott Winn and cousin Hazel Winn.
Broc's family and friends were the most important part of his life. He never knew a stranger as he befriended nearly everyone he met. It was well known that Broc would do anything for anyone who needed him. Broc took pride in being a loving older brother. Broc gave the best hugs, had the happiest smile, and lit up any room he walked into. He also loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting with his dad and friends. Broc was passionate about country music, cowboy boots, and Ford trucks.
Broc loved all sports, but football was his favorite. He was honored to be part of many successful TCHS teams. The highlight of his athletic career was his senior year when the 2006 football team earned their perfect season and state championship. To experience this with his brother and childhood friends meant the world to Broc.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials be made to TCHS Athletics Fund, c/o Tuscola Community High School, 500 South Prairie Street, Tuscola, IL 61953.
Broc chose to be an organ donor and with his gifts several lives were saved.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Tuscola United Methodist Church, 901 North Prairie Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Ted Mitchell officiating. Graveside Services will be held at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, rural Hindsboro, IL.
