Obituary

Brian P. Elder, 32, of Champaign formerly of Sullivan passed away at 4:55 a.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Sullivan, IL with Rebecca S. Ingram officiating. Visitation will be held between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. prior to the memorial service at the church.

Brian was born July 16, 1976. The son of Robert V. and Geraldine Elder. He married Jeanna L. Sims on May 21, 2007 in Sullivan. She survives.

Other survivors include his parents Robert V. and Geraldine Elder, Sullivan, his brother Mark A. Elder and his wife, Siwei, nephews Paul and Darren of Japan, his sisters: Carol R. Elder and her husband, Andrea Parri, and nephew Simon, Sullivan, Sara A. Boyer and her husband, David, and nieces Brittin and Kailyn, Sullivan, maternal grandmother, Antoinette Arini, Scottsdale, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Vernon E. and Ruth E. Elder, his maternal grandfather, Anthony J. Arini.

Brian graduated from Sullivan High School. Since graduating, Brian lived in many different places such as California, Florida, and Vermont. He enjoyed playing golf, video games, and loved the Cubs. His most recent profession was as a truck driver for Marvin Keller in Sullivan.
His ability to remain being the quick-witted Brian throughout his trials with Cancer was an inspiration to all who knew him and he will be deeply missed.
