Obituary
Brent E. Newlin, 38, of Champaign, IL, formerly of Atwood, IL, died at 12:39 P.M., Tuesday, September 25, 2007 as a result of an automobile accident.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with Pastor Steve Rigdon officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, September 28, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL, with military graveside rites accorded by the James Reeder American Legion Post #770.
Mr. Newlin was born on August 21, 1969 in Urbana, IL, the son of Jerry D. and Wanda J. Lutz Newlin.
Survivors include his Parents of Atwood, IL, 1 Sister: Jill M. Heathcott and husband: Brent of Gambrills, MD, Nieces: Laurna and Madison.
Mr. Newlin served his country as a member of the US Navy, where he served as an aircraft handler aboard the USS Carl Vinson. He was a 1987 Graduate of Atwood-Hammond High School. He was a member of the Tapestry Church in Champaign and a lifetime member of the American Legion.
