LaVonne Lucille “Bonnie” Conlin, 90, of Arthur, passed away at 4:59 a.m., Thursday, January 1, 2026 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Bonnie was born May 16, 1935 in Garrett, the daughter of Kenneth and Alice Bolton. She married Dave Conlin in Arthur on October 1, 1955, they celebrated nearly 65 years of marriage; he preceded her in death in August 20, 2020.

Survivors include her three children, Cathy (Durb) Askew of Neoga; Mark (Vickie) Conlin of Arthur; Teresa (Dennis) Chamberlain of Pana; four grandchildren, Shane (Bethany) Janssen, Lindsay (Mike) Orsi, Kristin Chamberlain, Justin Chamberlain; three great grandchildren, Kyleigh Janssen whose mom is Heather Kirby and dad, Jeff Ayers, Gage Chamberlain, Ella Orsi; three step great grandchildren, Jesse Brant, Easton and Jade Hill; sister-in-law, Shirley Conlin of Arthur; brother-in-law, Phil (Alice) Conlin of Effingham; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave; mother, Alice Keal and stepfather, Harry Keal; mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Margaret Conlin; and brother-in-law, Jack Conlin.

Bonnie had many social “friends groups”; couples bowling league, boating group, Grain and Feed group, Illini tailgate group, and many community friends.

Bonnie’s family was most important to her. She took great pride in watching her children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren grow and develop. She enjoyed their successes and accomplishments. She enjoyed following her grandkids to all their sports events, becoming a dedicated Pana School’s fan for many years, as well as Northern Illinois University and St. Louis Fontbonne University sports programs.

Bonnnie made many quilts for her kids and grandkids over the years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Arcola at 9:00 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2026 with Father Michael Trummer as officiant. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur.

Memorials are suggested to Arthur Fire Dept. and EMT Association or American Heart Association.
