Buddy Roger "Bill" Livesay, 75, of Mattoon, died at 7:10 a.m. Saturday March 22, 2025 at Mattoon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

He was born October 1, 1949 in Urbana, the son of Roy and Mabel Rogers Livesay.   He married Cecilia Cloyd on September 4, 1999 at the Sulpher Ridge Church of Christ in Tompkinsville, Kentucky.

Bill is survived by his wife, Cecilia Livesay of Mattoon; children, Amanda (Randy Westley) of Indianapolis; and their children, Khayed, Tyler, and Ariana; and two great granddaughters; Damian (Raegan) Spencer of St. Joseph; and their children, Hallie, Clayton, and Parker; Jim (Lindsey) Spencer of Tuscola; and their children, Sam and Stella; Jennie (Curt) Abegg of Decatur; and their children, Dylan, Jake, and Alaina; sisters, Nancy Brown Clodfetter of Greencastle, Indiana; Alice (John) Wray of Columbia, S. Carolina; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jonathan and Claudia Boyd of Neoga; sister-in-law, Carolyn Cloyd of Mattoon; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Newgent; and brother, Paul Livesay.

Bill was a jack-of-all trades.  Life took him from rocking and rolling in bands to, most recently, preaching at Lake Land Church of Christ in Mattoon.  He loved God, his family, music, animals, especially dogs, and being outdoors.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date.  Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation or the Coles County Humane Society.
