Beverly Ann (Wolford) Burgener, 79, of New Port Richie, FL, formerly of Atwood, IL, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at Trinity Hospital, Elfers, FL.
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, is assisting the family with the local arrangements.
Beverly was born January 16, 1936 in Atwood, the daughter of Hardy and Dorothy Wolford. She married Raymond W. Burgener on June 2, 1956 in Bement, IL. He survives.
Beverly is also survived by her sons: Michael Burgener and wife Pam of Camargo; and Jeffrey Burgener and wife Naomi of Benton, AR; grandchildren: Ashley (Todd) Rentfrow of Champaign; Shaina (Steve) Komin of Ingleside; Jessica Burgener of Champaign; Jonathon Burgener of Springfield; Josh Wanless of Harristown; step-grandchildren: Billy (Holly) Johnson of Benton, AR and David (Crystal) Johnson of Benton, AR; great-grandchildren: Josie Komin of Ingleside; Emory and Alayne Burgener of Springfield; Preston Spigner of CO; Alexa and Burton Wanless of Harristown; step-grandchildren: Naomi and Lillie Johnson, Anjela, Adanya and Jaselin Johnson of Benton, AR.
She is also survived by her brothers-in-law: Donald (Ruth) Burgener of Little Silver, NJ; Phillip (Barbara) Burgener of Lehigh Acres, FL; Leonard (Vicki) Burgener of Bourbonnais; Charles (Marsha) Burgener of Bement; John (Judith) Burgener of Lafayette, TN; Robert (Marsha) Burgener of Hammond; Eugene Pollock of Assumption; sisters-in-law: Mary Best of Spring Hill, FL; Virginia Hannon of Joplin, MO; Lucille Chamberlin of Fremont, OH; Theresa Davidson of Peoria; Sue (Vern) Dargel of Peoria and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws: Phillip and Lucile Burgener; brothers-in-law: Max Best, John Hannon, Richard Chamberlin and Tim Davidson; sisters-in-laws: Helen (Jim) Albright; Barbara (Frederick) Kisters; Karol Pollock and Linda Burgener and a granddaughter: Felicia Ann Burgener Wanless.
Beverly was a cook at the Atwood-Hammond Grade School for 20 years before retiring to Florida. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid Cubs fan. She loved playing cards and dancing the night away with Ray. She was the best mother and mother-in-law anyone could have asked for. She thoroughly enjoyed having her husband, Ray, by her side for the last 59 years.
