Betty M. Weinland, 79, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 3:46 pm, Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center, Mattoon, IL

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Tuscola United Methodist Church, 901 North Prairie Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Patty Johansen officiating. A time of sharing will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Inurnment will be in church columbarium.

Betty was born on February 7, 1931 in Jackson, Mississippi, the daughter of William and Dora Fudge McCain. She married L. Graden Weinland on March 4, 1951 Durango, CO. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2003.

Survivors include her children: Lee Weinland, III of Los Alamos, NM, Jeannie Craddock and husband: Dan of Tuscola, IL, daughter-in-law: Jan Frensdorf of Los Alamos, NM, grandchildren: Katie Weinland, Rachel Craddock and Jacob Craddock.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son: Bill Weinland

Betty moved to Tuscola in 2004 to be near her family. She attended Cottey College in Nevada, MO and SMU in Dallas, TX. Betty taught piano lessons for over 30 years and she was a church organist and choir director for over 25 years. She was a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church, Tuscola Women's Club, PEO and Delta Gamma Sorority. Betty was one of the first woman real estate brokers in Colorado. She loved to read, play bridge and work crossword puzzles. She was a very devoted wife and mother.
