Betty L. Jones, 79, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 8:14 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL.
Betty was born February 10, 1932 in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of Lloyd and Bernice Baughman Kresin. She married Harrison E. Romine on November 2, 1952. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1969. She married Richard D. Jones on December 7, 1996 in Tuscola, IL. He survives
Other survivors include 3 Sons: Bruce Romine of Tuscola, IL; Jeff (Deanna) Romine of Albuquerque, NM; and David (Denise) Romine of Albuquerque, NM, 2 Daughters: Cheryl (Bill) Siems of Urbana, IL and Marianne (Dennis) Hanner of Tuscola, IL; 5 grandchildren, 7 Step-Children: Bonnie Conley of Denver, CO; Rick Jones of Tuscola, IL: Michael Jones of Mattoon, IL; Tony Jones of Dallas, TX; Daniel Jones of Tuscola, IL; Fred Jones of Jackson, TN; and David Jones of Arcola, IL and a Brother: Larry Kresin of Tuscola, IL; 15 step-grandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren.
Betty was a member of the Tuscola United Church of Christ. She was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Champaign County Bowling Hall of Fame. Betty loved to follow the Fighting Illini and the St. Louis Cardinals. She collected stuffed bears and enjoyed fishing, especially at Mill Creek.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
