Betty Jean Graham, 92, of Paris, formerly of Arthur, died at 2:50 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 at her residence in Paris.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Arthur United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bruce Weiman officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church.  Shrader Funeral Home 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty was born July 10, 1925 in Paris, the daughter of Vern and Verna Milburn Essinger. She married Dr. T.L. "Bud" Graham in Paris on August 9, 1952; he preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1984.

Survivors include her sister, Martha Snoddy of Ashmore, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Bill and Rex Essinger; 3 sisters, Dorothy Essinger, Rosie Furry, and Mary Furry.

Betty graduated from Paris High School Class of 1943. She completed her nurses training at Paris Hospital in 1946 and also completed training in obstetrics in Chicago in 1948.  She continued her nursing career at Jarman Hospital in Tuscola and was a nurse for Dr. Gordon Messmore for over 50 years.

Betty was an active member of the Arthur United Methodist Church. Memorials are suggested to the church.
