Berniece A. Lincoln, 96, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 7:50 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Ted Mitchell and Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m., Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.

Berniece was born on May 21, 1920 in Parke County, IN, the daughter of Ira and Ora Tressner Smith. She married E. Leland "Dutch" Lincoln on July 26, 1944 in Clinton, IN. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1974.

Survivors include her son: Clark E. (Joan Hoogenboom) Lincoln of Bloomington, IN and daughter: Virginia M. (Boyd) Henderson of Tuscola, IL, grandchildren: Jamie Henderson of Lovington, IL, Angela Henderson (Jeff Jones) of Rantoul, IL and David (Gigi) Henderson of Tuscola, IL
great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Emma Henderson, step-great-grandchildren: Kaci, Kara and Ryan Williams, sister: Genevieve Blair of Terre Haute, IN.

Berniece was prededed in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.

Berniece graduated from Indiana State University. She formerly taught English and Music at Belmore School in Indiana. Berniece retired from the University of Illinois Library, where she worked in the Book Binding Department for 20 years.

She was a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church where she was in the bell choir and the West Ridge Club. Berniece enjoyed playing the piano and violin.
