Bernadean Mayhall, 92, of Camargo, IL, passed away surrounded by her family at 11:47 a.m. November 21, 2010 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL.
Bernadean was born in Mt. Sterling, IL, on October 12, 1918, the daughter of William and Essie Leeper VanDorn. Her parents and four siblings preceded her in death. Bernadean married Sylvester "Cub" Mayhall on October 12, 1938 in Tuscola, IL. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1993.
She is survived by her son: Glen "Pete" Mayhall and his wife: Maryann; her grandson: Randy Mayhall and his wife: Chris and her special great-granddaughter: Myranda Mayhall all of Camargo, IL.
Bernadean's life was devoted to her home, family, farming and living on the land she loved for over 70 years. In her early years, she took great pleasure working side by side with her husband as they farmed in the Camargo-Murdock area. During her life time she was an active member of the Murdock Methodist Church, the Douglas County Farm Bureau, Republican Party and the Hugo Jolly Bunch. She loved ballroom dancing, square dancing, traveling and taking care of her home.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Rev. Joy Starwalt officiating. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Murdock United Methodist Church.
